Outstanding Attendance Award

Purpose: The John Dewey School for Children would like to publicly recognize the students who come to school regularly and on time during a particular quarter in the school year.

Qualifications:

  • A candidate should be a bonafide JDSC student.
  • He/She is NOT tardy or late at any time during the quarter.
  • He/She has complete attendance in class and school events.

A student who gets this award in ALL four (4) quarters of the school year would receive an Outstanding Attendance Medal during the Moving Up or Graduation Day.

Outstanding Character Award

Purpose: The John Dewey School for Children recognizes students who exemplify virtues such as  excellence, innovation, integrity, leadership and service through their everyday deeds in a particular quarter of the school year. The school, through this award, hopes to mold students of good character and encourage them to embrace and exemplify the virtues.

Qualifications:

  • A candidate should be a bonafide JDSC student.
  • He/She should get A as a general average in Deportment in all subjects
  • No grade of C or below in any subject in Deportment.
  • He/She should not receive any grade lower than 80 in any of the subjects.
  • He/She demonstrates good and commendable character and is not involved in any serious misbehaviors during the period covered.

A student who gets this award in at least three (3) quarters of the school year would receive an Outstanding Character Medal during the Moving Up or Graduation Day.

Academic Excellence Award

Purpose: The John Dewey School for Children gives recognition to deserving students who display outstanding academic achievement in a particular quarter of the school year. It is not our primary goal to rank students through this but rather to recognize each individual’s academic skills and attitude. Through the recognition accorded, the school hopes to motivate more students to do their best in their academic subjects.

Qualifications:

  • A candidate should be a bonafide JDSC student (only applicable from grades 3 to 10).
  • He/She should get at least a general weighted average of A.
  • He/She should not receive any grade lower than 85 in any of the subjects.
  • He/She demonstrates good and commendable character and is not involved in any serious misbehaviors during the period covered. He/She should not receive any grade lower than B in Deportment.

A student who gets this award in at least three (3) quarters of the school year would receive an Academic Excellence Medal during the Moving Up or Graduation Day.

 Community Service Award

Purpose: The John Dewey School for Children gives recognition to exemplary student leaders every quarter of the school year. This award aims to recognize Grades 1 to 10 students who have shown genuine concern for others and have taken initiative in performing tasks for the betterment of his classmates, teachers, and the entire school community.

Qualifications:

  • A candidate should be a bonafide JDSC student.
  • He/She performs homeroom and classroom tasks responsibly and consistently.
  • He/She performs special tasks in school activities and events and/or represented the school in outside event(s).
  • He/She demonstrates good and commendable character and is not involved in any serious misbehaviors during the period covered.

A student who gets this award in at least three (3) quarters of the school year would receive a Community Service Award Medal during the Moving Up or Graduation Day.
