Grade School
Grouped in smaller classes, grade school students are given a variety of meaningful and interactive learning experiences to help them discover their individual talents and interests. Teachers and staff enhance their confidence and motivation to learn through subject disciplines, project work, sustainability education, the Virtues Project, and co-curricular activities.
The school focuses on instilling values and building character in each child. Through the Virtues Project, students practice resilience, leadership, and service, among others. The JDSC sustainability education program, on the other hand, equip students with a deeper understanding of ecology as well as the right values, skills, and motivation to take action for the environment. The students embrace sustainable practices such as eating plant-based dishes, conserving energy and resources, engaging in environmental projects, etc. to help in advancing a more sustainable society.
Project based-Learning (PBL) engages students in finding solutions to real-world problems. Learners are given opportunities to act on their interests and passions through multi-level and transdisciplinary research and collaborative work. Through PBL, children develop 21st century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills needed to thrive in today’s unpredictable world.
